This is a current project. Working with a local podcast station on building a bilingual, cross-platform mobile experience that enables locals in the Monterey Bay area to stay informed about area politics and activism. Users can get information on candidates and measures. Some of the features: native device UIs, geolocation/maps, click to call/email, push notifications, offline sync, and an administrative web dashboard to update app content.
(Fishackathon 1st place regional winner, Monterey Bay Aquarium) An Android mobile application designed to help local fishermen of the Philippines in supporting sustainable fishing practices by giving them access to live maps and information on Marina Protected Areas (MPAs) in their area using the Google Maps API, provide real-time weather reports and alerts with the Dark Sky API, remind them of their fishing laws, and provide contact information for regulation officials. This was a team project, but I handled the weather API and some Google Maps. (CSUMB Capstone Festival winner for best integration of design and technology) An open source management tool for nonprofits and small businesses providing a simple, modularized system to manage assets, events, services, and point of sale. The system utilizes a custom, RESTful API, Laravel with Composer on the backend, Ember with Bootstrap and Bower on the frontend. Grunt is the project task runner and Git is powering the version control. This was an Agile team project, but I handled the events backend. |
